Here’s the process from scratch to the final result of my secret piece 🤍
This portrait was created from two separate photos, so before painting I had to build a whole new composition — sketching, adjusting the light, unifying colors and finding the right balance between both faces.
It was one of the most special parts of the project.

Es un encargo muy especial que me hizo una clienta en Uruguay: un retrato de sus papás, creado a partir de dos fotos separadas y compuesto desde cero.

Do I really need to learn to draw? Can’t I just paint?

Yes, I had the same question, but it was not until I started learning to draw that I learned painting. Drawing makes you study your object in a deeper level. You learn about its proportions, its lights in shadows, the empty spaces that surround it and the lines that forms it.
Every subject should be studied and, believe me, you will notice the difference in the end.

If you’re struggling with drawing this is your sign to keep going 💪🏻
